manifesto

Echopark Guitars was born in the heart of Los Angeles, in the neighborhood that gave us our name—a place alive with creativity, grit, and soul. From the beginning, our mission was clear: to build guitars with story, substance, and spirit. Founder Gabriel Currie brought decades of luthier experience and a deep respect for vintage craftsmanship to every build, each one made by hand in a dingy garage shop. The instruments quickly gained a following among players who wanted something more than off-the-shelf—they wanted tools for expression, alive with tone and individuality.

As the guitars found their way into the hands of artists on stages around the world, the demand for deeper innovation grew. That drive led to our next chapter: relocating to Detroit, a city with its own rich legacy of design, manufacturing, and music. Here, surrounded by the raw energy of American industry and the legacy of  1960s automotive artistry, we evolved. We didn’t just build guitars—we started sculpting them with the same bold, expressive spirit that once shaped the lines of a Chrysler or a Cadillac. It was a perfect marriage of form and function: soulful instruments built with Detroit muscle and California heart. Our commitment has always been to the player.

Whether it's Josh Homme, Charlie Starr, David Catching, Troy Van Leeuwen or any other Echopark player chasing a sound that feels like home, our guitars are built from conversations, collaborations, and trust. The Custom and Case Study Series exist because our artists push us—they’re not just endorsers; they’re partners and quality assurance specialists. Every curve, pickup, finish, and fretboard is the result of obsessive attention to detail and a refusal to compromise. We don't chase trends—we build legacy tools meant to live on stage, in the studio, and in your hands for life.

At Echopark, we believe a guitar should be more than an object—it should be a reflection of the player. It should have a voice, a soul, and a reason to exist. That belief drives every instrument, every hand-wound pickup, every pedal, and every experiment we take on. We honor tradition, but we’re not bound by it. We’re here for the artists, the outsiders, the craftsmen, and the tone chasers.

From Los Angeles to Detroit, Echopark Guitars remains a celebration of the imperfect, the inspired, and the unapologetically original.
